ART SERIES – The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM lens is a state of the art lens designed for full frame cameras but can also be used with APS-C sensors as well. The HSM ensures quiet, high speed, accurate auto focusing while the floating focusing system allows for superior optical performance with subjects at a closer shooting distance. This lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.
OPTICS - The 35mm incorporates both (FLD) glass and Low Dispersion (SLD) glass in a 9 elements - 8 group. There is one aspherical elements to significantly reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to minimize surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for increased contrast and color accuracy. The combination of advanced optics and optimized lens power distribution minimizes spherical aberration, axial chromatic aberration.
FOCUS - Hyper Sonic Motor, which provides fast, smooth, and near-silent autofocus performance. This focusing motor also enables full-time manual focus override at any time just by rotating the focus ring for refined manual control and focusing as close as 11.8'. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm helps to produce an attractive out-of-focus quality.

The combination of one F Low Dispersion (FLD) element and four Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements help to achieve a marked reduction in chromatic aberrations, while a pair of aspherical elements, with one positioned in the rear of the lens, minimize a variety of additional distortions and aberrations. A Super Multi Coating has been applied to lens elements, too, to reduce flare and ghosting for higher contrast and color fidelity. Additionally, the f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and offers increased control over depth of field for isolating subject matter
